Overview
Uttarakhand, also known as Devbhoomi or the Land of Gods, is home to numerous temples and welcomes devotees all year round. Among the countless religious sites and circuits that devotees visit in Uttarakhand, one of the most prominent is the Char Dham Yatra. This Yatra or pilgrimage is a tour of four holy sites - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath – nestled high up in the Himalayas. In Hindi, 'char' means four and 'dham' refers to religious destinations. India is a land of many pilgrimage sites that lures not only the domestic travellers. Char Dham Yatra that takes you on a spiritual journey like no other. As per the Hindu beliefs, a pilgrimage to these sacred destinations is believed to give you salvation, or what is often referred to as moksha.
DAY WISE ITINERARY
Day 1: Delhi – Haridwar
Arrival at New Delhi station or ISBT. We’ll drive to Haridwar by bus. On arrival at Haridwar, check in hotel and relax little. In the evening, visit local sightseeing like Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi, Shanti Kunj, Daksh Temple after that proceed to Har Ki Pauri to enjoy Ganga Aarti on the banks of Ganges. Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in the lap of Ganga Maa. Overnight stay at Hardwar’s Hotel.
Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot
Next morning after breakfast we will proceed to Barkot.Enroute you can visit the famous Kempty Falls.On reaching Barkot, check-in to your hotel. Evening for leisure dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel
Day 3: Barot to Yamunotri
Morning proceeds for Yamunotri.From Jankihatti start your 6 km trek to Yamunotri. You can also hire palki or a horse for your trek. (Cost Not Included).On your trek, you enjoy the sight of lush green valley and a variety of species of Himalayan shrubs.Perform all the rituals and return back to Barkot.Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel
Day4: Barot to Uttarkashi
After having your breakfast, check out from the hotel.Start your drive to your next destination, Uttarkashi on the way you can visit Prakateshwar Mahadev Temple (Shiva Cave) and other attractions there, before Check in Hotel. after check in hotel , realx .Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri
Next morning, after breakfast , start driving towards Gangotri.On The way visit Gangnani, Jhala Valley, Lanka , Bharoo Ghati , Harshil and Surya Kund.On reaching Gangotri, perform Pooja and other rituals. Later, drive back to Uttarkashi.Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 6: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi
After early morning breakfast check out from the hotel and drive for Guptkashi. On the way you can visit Chaurangi Khal.This trip takes 7-8 hours to reach there. After arrival there, check in hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Guptkashi town. Dinner and Overnight stay in Guptkashi hotel.
Day 7: Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Kedarnath
Early morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag. After reaching there you will start your 20 km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). Mandakini, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund. Sometimes the mist would envelop the mountains and slowly lift away, revealing a shiny blinding-white peak that threatens to rupture the skies. On arrival there, check in Govt. Camps/Lodges. Overnight at Govt. Lodges.
Day 8: Kedarnath – Sonprayag – Guptkashi
Early morning, after taking bath get ready for temple visit for Darshan, ‘Abhishek’ to Kedarnath Shiva. Everyone can go inside Garbha Griha and touch the idol. After darshan and puja you come out of the temple and return to the Govt. Camps / Lodges. Later you'll start the return trek of 20 km from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. The vehicles wait for you in Sonprayag Car Parking and you’ll drive to your hotel/Camps. Dinner and Overnight at Guptkashi Hotel.
Day 9: Guptkashi – Rishikesh – Haridwar
Early morning, after breakfast, we will drive downhill to Rishikesh a spiritual city and the Yoga capital of the world. This trip will take 7-8 hours to reach there. On reaching Rishikesh we'll do the Rishikesh sightseeing visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula and other attractions. In evening we will go towards to Haridwar. On arrival there, check in Haridwar hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10: Haridwar to Delhi
After morning breakfast at hotel, get ready for the last ending stop of this Yatra. Drive back to Delhi. On reaching ISBT transfer to Railway Station/Airport towards your homeland
