Overview
Jammu and Kashmir is the northernmost state of India. In the seventeenth century, the Mughal emperor Jahangir said that if paradise is anywhere on the earth, it is here (the Kashmir Valley), while living in a houseboat on Dal Lake [citation needed]. "Gar firdaus, ruhe zamin ast, hamin asto, hamin asto, hamin ast", which translates to "if there is ever a heaven on earth, its here, its here, its here". In Jammu and Kashmir, the most important tourist places are the Kashmir Valley, Srinagar, the Mughal Gardens, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Jammu, and Ladakh. Some areas require a special permit for non-Indians to visit.
DAY WISE ITINERARY
DAY 01: ARRIVE SRINAGAR "Srinagar, is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar lakes. The city is known for its natural environment, gardens, waterfronts and houseboats". On arrival at the Srinagar airport and transfer to Hotel. After noon take some sightseeing of Srinagar, half day tour of world-famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Adobe of love), Shankaracharya Temple, Pari Mahal, Botanical Garden, Tulip Garden (Tulip Garden Season Is 20 March to 28 April)., Shikara ride and Hazratbal Shrine. DAY 02: SRINAGAR – SONAMARG – SRINAGAR (80 KILOMETRES 2.5 HRS DRIVE) "Sonamarg Sonamarg, which means ‘meadow of gold’ has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh meanders along here and abounds with trout and mahseer, snow trout can be caught in the main river. In late April when Sonamarg is open for road transport, the visitors can have access to snow which is furnished all over like a white carpet. Private vehicles are not allowed. Visitors have to hire taxi and it is controlled by taxi mafia. Ponies can be hired for the trip up to Thajwas glacier a major attraction during the summer months. The climate of Sonamarg is very bracing; but the rainfall is frequent though not heavy, except for two or three days at a time in July and August with fine spell in between. From Sonamarg, trekking routes lead to the Himalayan lakes of Vishansar Lake, Krishansar Lake, Gangabal Lake and Gadsar Lake, stocked with Snow trout and Brown trout and Satsar, glacier-fed and surrounded by banks of alpine flowers. A close by excursion is to Baltal, 15 km east of Sonamarg. This little valley lies at the foot of the Zojila, only a day’s journey away from the sacred cave of Amarnath is a base camp for Amarnath Yatra. Trekkers can also reach the starkly splendid roof-top of the world Leh, by crossing over the Zojila La pass. At Sonamarg the Jammu and Kashmir tourism department organizes river rafting tournaments yearly, which has recently seen the participation of teams abroad". After breakfast proceeds to full day excursion of Sonamarg which is one of the most beautiful drives from Srinagar. Sonamarg also called Meadows of Gold is located at a height of 2692 meters. DAY 03: SRINAGAR – GULMARG – SRINAGAR (60 KILOMETRES 2.00 HRS DRIVE) "Gulmarg, known as Gulmarg in Kashmiri, is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The town is situated in the Pir Panjal Range in the Western Himalayas and lies within the boundaries of Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary" After breakfast proceed towards Gulmarg. Enroute, you get to see the beautiful Tangmarg town, Drung Valley water river fall and drive ahead on a scenic drive of kilometres to Gulmarg. Arrive in Gulmarg early in the afternoon and then Later, begin a short tour, boarding the Gondola cable car system (at your own cost) & Snow Bike Ride (the 08 minutes ropeway). Descend back to Gulmarg after an hour and later indulge in some horse-riding, Sledge Ride, Skiing, (at your own cost) Then back to Srinagar Stay overnight
DAY 04: SRINAGAR – PAHALGAM – PAHALGAM (97 KILOMETRES 02.05 HRS DRIVE) "Pahalgam is a hill station in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Mountain trails run northeast to Amarnath Cave Temple, a Hindu shrine and site of the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Over Aru Wildlife Sanctuary is home to animals including brown bears and musk deer. Northeast, the Lidder River runs through scenic Betaab Valley. Southeast, Tulian Lake is flanked by mountain peaks and often frozen". After Breakfast early morning, we drive to Pahalgam via Pampore, Avantipura and then Local Sightseeing in Pahalgam. Like Chandan wari, Aru Valley and Betab Valley (at your own cost) and back to Pahalgam overnight stay
DAY 05: PAHALGAM – SRINAGAR – AIRPORT (97 KILOMETRES 02.05 HRS DRIVE) "Dal is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is an urban lake, which is the second largest in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the "Lake of Flowers", "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel"". After your breakfast, we will assist you with transfers to Srinagar Airport. However, on your way, you can make a brief stopover for Shopping and then for your onward flight.
